Website and Brochure for Laings Edinburgh.

Website and Brochure for Laings Edinburgh.

Laings are a high end luxury designer, supplier and installer of kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms. Established since 1862 they have a presence in the north of Scotland headquartered at Inverurie with a centrally located showroom at The Shore in Leith near Edinburgh.
We were contacted by Laings regarding their Edinburgh showroom. They identified their desire to work with a local design company and chose i2eye design to work of a range of design items. The brief was initially to create a high end leaflet that would in showroom and mail drop functionality yet still adhere to their business and products. However the brief grew to include photography services for new installations, posters and new website...

  • The Laings existing branding was understood and expanded to create artwork which is unique to Laings and their Edinburgh showroom.
  • Large and crisp room capturing photography was quickly identified as essential to all design items, and is a factor in the creation of the overall branding and artwork.
  • The website needed to be renewed so a modern fullscreen WordPress platform was established, which also gives easy access to members of staff.
Laings after working with us to create and establish these new branding elements now enjoy the position of being visually strong and engaging to prospective customers - in a difficult economic market. We identified keys of improvement during a downturn and have made Laings stronger for the upturn. We have also significantly increase the online presence of the company and provide key printed materials.

Bitesize Bio Digital Media Pack

Bitesize Bio Digital Media Pack

Nick Oswald created and runs a website called Bitesize Bio. This website is an information and resource hub for those involved within the life sciences. We first met at an event arranged by Nexxus Scotland and stayed in contact due to our mutual interest in science.
Subsequent to our initial meeting at the Nexxus event Nick and i2eye design studio met to discuss the design of new media packs for the Bitesize Bio website. It was agreed that the final design would be A4 in size, have a "clean" aesthetic and delivered for use as digital documents.

  • A4 pages designed with a minimal aesthetic pages using Albert Sans typeface.
  • Life science photography was used throughout the document to elaborate on the information and show the websites relevance to its chosen sector.
  • Pages from the Bitesize Bio website were presented in situ as sponsors were provided key information and contact details.
  • UK and USA versions were created and are hosted on issuu.com as easily accessible digital documents. Formatted and hyperlinked PDF versions were also provided for email or printing.
Bitesize Bio have been provided significantly better media packs to send to their prospective website sponsors. The documents are essential to new business and as they're digital they save on costs and adhere to the online nature of Bitesize Bio. The life science focus of their business is also maintained as the company identity and laboratory focus is elaborated throughout the final design.

Fitness Campaign for Glasgow College.

Fitness Campaign for Glasgow College.

We worked with Kath Parkin from the City of Glasgow College Physical Education Dept.
As part of a creative project we asked if we could work with City of Glasgow College to engage the student population to increase their interest and participation in physical exercise and sport. We identified the main areas for visibility, those being notice boards and the numerous plasma televisions throughout the college. However we also thought laterally, identifying canteen trays as poster opportunity in themselves which would allow significant facetime with the students.
  • Arranged a photoshoot with real students throughout the college to create juxtaposition photography to engage the students in a down to earth style in which it's easy to see how they can participate.
  • Produced canteen specific photography, continuing the juxtaposition even further and rather contextually.
The final campaign was put into action where possible throughout the college...

Design Project for nuUnow Personal Training.

Design Project for nuUnow Personal Training.

nuUnow Personal Training got in contact with us via a referral. They were primarily looking for a new website and it was quickly realised that a great digital solution could be provided and that other design items were required.
A new website was initially asked for but a branding project with marketing materials was created. So a new logo, stationery, A5 flyers and A3 posters were designed and a Joomla powered CMS installed. The Joomla system was created as it was recognised that personal trainers spend their working day within a fitness environment giving their clients significant time and attention - this was a problem to be solved.
  • A branding and design concept adhering to the companies logo of personal change was provided using a "U turn" and planetary sunrise.
  • A photography shoot was commissioned to create conceptual images which were then creatively treated in Photoshop to produce eye catching and contrasting visuals congruent to the company branding.
  • A Joomla platform was created to provide a website which would act as the company booking system for current and prospective clients as well as a complete on-line shop. The booking system and payment system works with smart phones and browsers allowing easy and automated use.
A congruent branding and marketing project was delivered to nuUnow Personal Training. The marketing materials and the website have provided the company a leading edge within the sector. It also aids their working week as personal trainers and their clients by utilising the calendar booking system. The company is now competing well above its rivals and is leading the way from our visionary and innovate design solutions.

Creation of the RASOR Brochure.

Creation of the RASOR Brochure.

A representative from the Radical Solutions for Researching the Proteome group was met at an event and mentioned the end of the project.
After a discussion it was concluded that an A3 brochure would be created to present an overview of the research. The research of the center was a four year study investigating new ways of researching the proteome. This was important work as any insights or refinements could significantly improve or shorten any future investigations.
  • An A3 format double folded brochure was created using bright and contrasting artwork. With the artwork conceptually adhering to protein molecular biology and chemistry.
  • The rationale of the project, its questions and key descriptions of each of the short projects were all presented.
  • All collaborating institutions were represented by their logos and the key researchers and staff listed.
The final brochure was welcomed by all staff involved in the project. The bright colours and congruent visuals were described as bold but were well liked for their difference to typical design throughout the scientific industry. The brochure has been used at various scientific congresses worldwide and is working to give its readers key insights into proteomic research techniques.
